Security is built into every gEncompass product — from the apps technicians carry into the field to the hardware bolted to your generator. This page describes how we protect your information.
Infrastructure
Our applications run on managed, professionally operated cloud platforms. All traffic between your devices and our services is encrypted in transit using TLS, and production data is encrypted at rest.
Application Security
Accounts are authenticated through industry-standard authentication providers. Administrative functions are enforced server-side with role-based access — privileged actions require verified administrator accounts, and database rules restrict every table so users can only reach their own records.
Data Isolation
Each gEncompass product runs on its own isolated database project. Generator Code Vault, CrewCommander, and the Mark 1 platform do not share databases, so an issue in one product cannot expose data from another.
Payments
gEncompass never stores your card numbers. App subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, and their payment systems handle all card data — it never touches our servers.
Offline & Device Data
Our field apps are built to work offline. Offline copies of reference data are stored locally on your device, and account synchronization happens only over encrypted connections when you're back online.
Hardware
The gEncompass Mark 1 transmits telemetry over cellular connections to our cloud. Units are provisioned per customer, and telemetry is associated only with the account that owns the device.
Reporting a Vulnerability
If you believe you've found a security issue in any gEncompass product, email support@gEncompass.com with "SECURITY" in the subject line. We take every report seriously and respond promptly.
